My wife and I have been Roth customers since we purchased our home in 2000, and have appreciated the consistently good service that we have received from all of your team.
We recently had a problem with the Lennox furnace that we purchase in 2010. It was not coming on. Adam came out, got it working temporarily and determined that it was a warranty issue and some parts needed to be ordered from Lennox. Later that day we noticed the problem occurred again when the temperature was down to 63. At that point I called and talked to Angie again, the parts were expedited, and Adam came out the next day, installed several new parts, and now we have heat again.
In a nutshell, here is what we appreciated about this experience:
- You have good players on your team.
- Each one is prepared to turn in a “winning” performance, like they were part of a relay team.
- The right person was assigned to handle the problem.
- Angie handled my call with sensitivity, and provided good customer service. I felt comfortable that our problem was going to be taken care of.
- Parts were ordered with next day delivery.
- Adam completed the job. He is sharp, a very nice person, and has excellent customer service skills.
Everything was handled in a way that reinforces that we are glad that we are Roth customers.

We would like to express our appreciation for the excellent work done at our home recently by Kirk Garvey, your Plumbing Service Leader.
We have a particularly “unique” plumbing system, one that is not often used in this area and , therefore, not readily understood by many plumbers. When we had a sudden leak in our system last week, we were not sure who to call to get it taken care of. Roth Heating & Cooling had replaced our furnace and added an air-conditioning system to our home about 5 years ago. Remembering that our experience on that occasion was a good one, we decided to give your company a call.
That turned out to be the right one! Kirk Garvey arrived at our home about 2 hours after our call to your Canby office, and he immediately knew what needed to be done. A call from him later that afternoon, informed us that he had ordered the necessary parts, was having them sent overnight from Ontario, California and that he would be here the day after they arrived to do the repairs. He gave us a quote at that time for the work.
Kirk worked on the system for the better part of Thursday; was able to get the system up and running again so that we had both hot and cold water with no leaks in the system; and returned the next morning to put everything back together. In all, we are quite sure it turned out to be more work than he originally thought it would be, but stood by his quote.
We want you to know how much we appreciate the work that Kirk Garvey did for us in a speedy, neat and workman-like manner. We know that your company’s philosophy is to employ high-quality, well-trained customer-oriented people. Kirk is a benchmark for that philosophy.

We have used Roth for maintenance on our furnace, air conditioning, and most recently maintnenance on our water system. What we have like the most is the quality of the workmen that are sent to our home. They do quality work, help us with maintnenance that needs to be done, and help us with on-going suggestions of issues we need to be aware of as the seasons change. We would recommend their service, and we plan on continuing with their home service.

The new equipment is working very well. It is nice to be warm again for a few days we were at 50 degrees or below it's nice to be back to 68 degrees again.

I’m writing to tell you something you probably already know - Levi Baker is a gifted technician and a flawless spokesperson for your company.
He showed up at our house on a cold, cold Sunday afternoon and cheerfully saved the day. Despite the lateness of the day, he calmly took all the time he needed to not only fix our furnace but to also explain our options to us in terms of how to prevent problems with this particular unit in the future. It turns out that he was correct in his prediction and by the time the suspect part on our furnace failed outright, he was ready with the new, improved part.
So here’s the list of traits we experienced with respect to this remarkable young man: punctual, tidy, friendly, businesslike, personable and articulate. It has been a pleasure working with him. You can bet when we call to schedule our yearly turn-up we're going to request Levi Baker.
As a follow-up to my telephone call to you this morning, I just wanted to again state how pleased I was with the service performed by Brett Durbin. From his greeting upon entering my home to the end of the service call, Brett was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to answer all my questions and did an excellent job servicing my furnace. Providing excellent customer service is something that doesn’t happen as often as it should in this present day and age and when I receive it, I am very pleased. I was very pleased & thankful for the wonderful experience with your company. I'm an old lady you know, and I was very excited to hear your company has a policy with your customers in situations like I was without heat. I was amazed at the quick response to get my heat turned back on even though your techs had to return at a later date to finish with the installation of the heat pump. Steve G. offered to bring me wood until the new system was installed and offered that he would even light my fire. Sam did a great job walking me through the thermostat & helping me understand the programming. This is the first time in years that I have been able to say this much about my thermostat. I picked Roth because your company is local to Canby and was delighted how kind and helpful everyone has been. I really appreciate what your company is doing. I have a group of old gals at the retirement home that I frequently visit with & told them all about the experience of getting the heat turned back on & I'm looking forward to letting them all know how everything turned out after Sam completed the install.
I have been meaning to write a letter to Roth for a few weeks now, so thank you for your follow up. Travis was not only on time, but he did an amazing job! He showed me very clearly what he had cleaned which is something really appreciated. Additionally, my furnace has a weird filter system and he showed me how to get to the filters so that I can change them. A few days later, I noticed that he had also left a wonderful hand-written diagram taped to the furnace that details how to get to the filters and how to change them. That was way over and above the call of duty and I really really appreciated his kindness, professionalism and knowledge.
I expect I will need HVAC work at some point in the future, and when I do I will be certain to call Roth. Travis left me some service plan information and pointed out that I probably need the fan thingy cleaned, so once I am not quite so busy I'll look at having that done.

Just wanted to say how much we are enjoying the 35 days of prizes for the 35th Anniversary promo! It has been fun to see what each day’s prize is! I was thrilled to win those movie tickets. Your service specialist, Deon Kishpaugh, came to my house this morning for a service call on our annual maintenance plan. Based on the service he provided, I felt compelled to call your switchboard at Roth Heating & Cooling to get your name, as his supervisor, so I could write to you. This is something I rarely do, but I am taking some time before I head out to work to make this happen.This morning I had an 8am appointment on my service plan to have Roth come out and check my furnace.I don't know exactly how long we have been signing up annually on your service plan, but it's been a while now. I just wanted you to know that Deon not only showed up early (a complete and total rarity in the service industry; in fact, I told my company that I probably wouldn't be in until noon, based on the window I was given), but he stayed to do what I felt was the most thorough exam of my system that has ever been done by one of your specialists. He even took the time to walk me through the whole report while making me feel comfortable with the terms he used to describe the system, it's capabilities, areas that need attention, and areas he felt were working well.
For the first time that I can remember since the first guy who signed me up for the maintenance program (I believe his name what Brett, or Brent, who was also great), I didn't feel like an idiot in front of a technician, not fulling understanding what I was being told, but having to just "trust" what was being said. In this rare instance, I am leaving my house feeling like I have some grasp on what I need to do for my system, with all of its HCZ and duct components. I actually feel enabled to do what I need to do to maintain it better, and get the most out of the systems' useful life. It was totally refreshing, because Deon took the time to talk to me at my level of understanding, like Brett/Brent used to do, without making me feel ignorant about it all, and made what I thought were some very valuable suggestions.While he was here, at his suggestion, I actually called Oregon Duct to see about getting my ducts cleaned.They will be here in January, and I will give your company full credit for the referral when they come out, thanks to Deon. I doubt that you get any benefit from that, other than some allegiance to Oregon Duct for the referral, but I am so ready to thank all of you, especially Deon.
Like I said, I don't do this often, but when someone goes above and beyond to show me and explain to me (at my level) what a great company they represent, I feel the need to say thank you, and let you know how much I appreciate it! I will definitely continue to sign up annually for your maintenance plan. I will also re-review your proposal for my air conditioning fix. Additionally, I will most certainly recommend your company to all of my neighbors and friends, although based on the level of customer service you provide, I doubt that you will need my recommendation. If you treat everyone the way you have treated me, the "atta-boys" are just icing on your company cake!

Just wanted to let you know that we were really happy with the service tech that came out last week and worked on our heating system. I know that it’s working now since (a) it actually clicks on when it’s supposed to and (b) the house is heating up much more quickly and staying at temperature a lot easier in general. Our furnace is getting pretty old but was actually in decent shape… the tech did a little tune up and we had the ignitor replaced and will now cross our fingers that it’ll last another few years before we need a new system entirely. When we do: we know who to call!

In the last couple years we have had Roth do our furnace work. Bell Heating originally installed our furnace 8 years ago and over the years, we did not feel we were receiving efficient service calls.
That all changed when we started using Roth for our servicing and repair.
We would like to particularly single out Deon Kishpaugh for his service call this past week. He was very thorough. We had always been told that no one made furnace filters in the size that our furnace required. Deon said that he could order them. Not only did he order us a box of filters, but he took the time to drop them off at our house on his way home from work.

Recently your company repaired a gas furnace in one of my rentals located in Portland. The tenant is very ill with terminal cancer and no heat is a real problem! I explained the situation and asked that the call be handled ASAP. I was told that it would be later that day or early the next and they would do their best to handle it as soon as possible.
Your service man was at the rental early that afternoon, just a few hours after the request was made. He checked the furnace, advised me of the problem, I approved the repair, and within an hour HEAT!
The staff I had dealings with were Lisa & Emily at the office, and Dallin the repair technician along with a new employee Chris. All were polite and professional.
This is the second time I have had dealings with your company, both times with complete satisfaction. I am not really looking forward to another problem, but if one arises, I'll call "Roth Heating and Cooling".

Travis came out to do a check on the A/C unit yesterday as part of the Maintenance Agreement I had purchased a couple weeks ago.
I want to let you know that Travis was very professional and has a great personality and did an outstanding job and reassured me that the A/C unit was operating at or above specifications.
I have worked in customer service all of my working years and I know that too many times it is easy for customers to call or write to complain but few will take the time to say “Thank you” and pat someone on the back when they do a great job.

We are writing this letter to let you know how happy and satisfied we are with the heat pump / furnace that your company installed for us in September. Deciding to purchase a total heating and cooling system for our home was a big thing for us (not to mention the expense!), but after living here 12 years and heating with a wood stove, it was time to get into the 21st century. Everyone who represents your company, especially Sam, Jose, James, and Jacob who did the installation, were so knowledgeable and competent. The weather was very hot during the time they were installing the ductwork under the house and in the attic, but they kept at it and worked so hard to get it done on time.
The best site for the heat pump was in the kitchen garden, and not having cleared a spot, I was thinking that we would just have to lose some plants to make room for it. But no! Someone on the crew (James?) took the time to move and replant the chives. It's a small thing, but reflects the good character and humor of those guys and we loved it.
There was a lot of paperwork involved in applying for rebates, and Lisa Palma handled it all for us. We got every rebate that we were eligible for and that was very important, too.
We will recommend your company very highly to anyone we know! The weather is very cold and snowy right now, and we are just so happy with the way our system is working - Thank You.

ON 12/18 (PM) I lost my heat and left a message with your service. Miranda returned the call promptly on 12/19 and sent out Larry who got the heater back up. Knowing it was on its “last legs” we arranged for a new one to be installed. Thank you to Larry, Dan and Angela (permit). Then came Cameron & Matt. They measured the space and thanks to them in addition for introducing my son to the wonderful world of tape measures. Then John & Jacob came for the install and did a great job, speedy too. All done by about 4:30. Thank you for your great work and customer service excellence. This is not the 1st time we’ve have Roth out. Our 10-year old furnace had its first failure this past week, and after several days of my living in a cool home, I telephoned your firm for assistance.
Twice during the day, your scheduler telephoned me, to provide updates on the time to expect the repair-person’s service call; and when on site, the repair technician quickly found the furnace’s control board problem, installed a new unit and tested the furnace to be certain of proper operation.
The reason for my letter is to compliment both the scheduling-person I spoke with on the telephone, and your repair technician for their skills at communication and for their professionalism in performing their work. Both of these individuals are a credit to your firm and each one obviously takes pride in the job they do and in their ability to work with customers.
It is indeed a pleasure for me to be able to work with such men and women, and I appreciate the work ethic that each one demonstrated. (Unfortunately such care is not always provided to customers in this world of “hurry up service and support. ”)

I just want to thank you and your staff, particularly Larry. We were in quite a pickle when our furnace quit working and in dealing with our Home Buyers Protection insurance provider and the vendor of their choosing, not ours. Larry worked extremely well, negotiating around the efforts of a different company’s technician to provide us good information and great service.
As it was, if the insurance company and their provider has their way, we would be in the cold for 3 days and looking at 3 more over a holiday weekend. 6 day’s without heat! ASBURD!!!
We eventually abandoned the insurance provider and their service vendor to have Larry go ahead and fix our furnace. As it turns out, if Roth Heating would have been contacted to being with, we would have been without heat for no more than 24 hours during the coldest days of this winter.
Thank you for your help and for getting us warm again! Know too, that your company was referred to us by word of mouth from a neighbor, and we will continue to pass this word on every opportunity we have.

Re: Good Service
We recently purchased and had installed a Lennox heat pump system. It is handling this cold weather quite well. However, rather than comments about the system, let me comment on the Roth crew who made it possible.
From start to finish and with good humor, the installation team did a great job of getting the old system out and the new system up and running. I was particularly impressed with D. Baker’s excellent customer service attitude. He was helpful, answered questions clearly, and explained things thoroughly. He took particular effort to be sure the site was cleaned up and met our expectations.
We appreciate the good job everyone did.
I would like to thank you for all your help with our little MENSA candidate, Tucker (Tucker is a pet. -Ed. )He is not the sharpest tool in the toolbox but he means a lot to us. The quick response and effort from all of your people was great. In addition, your consideration on the cost is appreciated.
Karen and I moved from Boston to Portland in 2004 to a new home where Roth had installed the heating system. Soon after that you installed our AC and provided our HVAC service for the length of that time that we lived there. When we moved to NE Portland and needed a service company we naturally called you.

Your company just recently completed the installation of a new Lennox furnace and air conditioner at my home. The salesman was Ken Kropf, the remodel designer was Adam, the installers were Matt & Vance, and their supervisor was Cliff. I also had the need to contact your office staff and spoke to the receptionist and a girl in the office who provided me with the serial numbers on the units.
Each and every person from Roth that I had contact with impressed me with their professionalism, their friendliness, and their customer skills. You should be proud of them all.
What I’m primarily writing about is the 2 installers, Matt and Vance. I have never had workmen at my home who were as excellent as these two. I never though that I might be impressed by something as common as a furnace- it simply sits in the corner of the garage, but Matt and Vance installed an industrial masterwork. The gas line is hidden, the cooling lines are hidden, and the drain line is hidden. In fact they weren’t satisfied with the location of the drain line and rejected their first 2 ideas before finally settling on the best location- that is pride of workmanship.
They are also the two nicest workmen I’ve ever had at the house. They are friendly, respectful and answered any questions that I had. After the first day I told them not to bother about cleaning anything up since I was planning to leave the cars out for the night. They cleaned up anyway.
Because of the entire experience with Roth staff, you can feel free to use me as a reference in the Lake Oswego area.
You might also consider taking Matt and Vance out for some beers after work- they’re certainly decent representatives for your company.

This letter is to highlight two of your valued employees, Tim Johns and Larry Schaub. Recently Tim Johns and his crew installed new heating/cooling vents in our remodeled home. This project had been an on going discussion with Roth management and service department.
Tim was friendly, professional and competent. He directed his crew at all times and the result of the work is what we had hoped for. Our house now has stable cooling, and soon-to-be-tested heating. Not only did Tim and the crew do an exceptional job at this task, but they also cleaned up all the sawdust and moved furniture back into place. We have been dealing with this remodel project since October of 2005, so believe us when we marvel at workers cleaning up their work area. Thanks! Tim also worked on installing our pool heater.
The other employee we wish to recognize is Larry Schaub. He came to work on the newly Roth installed furnace that was presenting problems and the air conditioner. He came at a time when we were about ready to give up on the Roth Company. We were beginning to wonder if this situation was every going to be resolved. Larry immediately assessed the equipment problems and went about fixing them. He is very knowledgeable and skilled at his job.

From Cameron's expertise in penciling out the project, to Sam's hard work and willing ways to please us as customers. Bill and I can say, without a doubt, we are very pleased with the outcome. Some history: We had a furnace installed by Roth 7 years ago. Our decision was based on cost and proximity. During the big December storms our furnace caught fire; I don’t know all the details, but we called to have a repairman look and assess. Complications arose: first it was only the heat pump, then the coils and there was some talk about an entire new furnace. Brent kept in regular contact with us, apprising us of the situation and resulting negotiations with Lennox and the insurance company. We do not have fax machine, so he contacted State Farm and faxed the work order to them.
Jon worked on our system most of one day and 10 hours on the second! He was the consummate professional, explaining what was happening. At 6:45 pm he even explained the programming of our new system, after I urged him to go home.
